FOREST ROCK QIGONG
Terms of Service — Online Courses & Programs
Operated by Forest Rock LLC, trading as Forest Rock Qigong. Effective date: 4 June 2026
These Terms apply to courses and programs delivered through our online learning platform. They do not replace separate terms for in-person retreats, partnership-delivered programs, or live in-person courses.
Overview
These Terms govern the online courses and programs offered by Forest Rock LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, USA, trading as Forest Rock Qigong ("Forest Rock Qigong," "we," "us," "our"). Forest Rock LLC is the party you contract with when you buy or enrol in any course, program, teacher training, or related digital service (each a "Course," together the "Services").
By creating an account, buying a Course, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Please read Section 11 (health and safety) before beginning any practice.
1. Who We Are and What These Terms Cover
Forest Rock Qigong offers Qigong education: self-paced courses, live online programs, practitioner trainings, and teacher training (the Qigong Teacher Training, or "QTT"). Our founder and principal teacher is Qigong Master Peter Caughey. Where a Course has its own terms — for example payment-plan, schedule, or certification terms — those form part of your agreement and prevail over these Terms for that Course.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to buy a Course. A minor may use a Course only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on the minor's behalf and remains responsible for their use and physical safety.
3. Accounts and Access
Keep your login details confidential; you are responsible for activity on your account. Each enrolment is for a single named user. You may not share, lend, sell, transfer, or give login access to anyone else. We may suspend or close accounts that breach this.
4. Your Licence to Use Course Content
A Course gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view the content for your own learning and practice during the Course's access period. You do not acquire ownership of any content.
Access period. Unless a Course page states a limited period, Courses come with continuing access — for as long as we keep offering that Course on our platform. Where access is described as "lifetime," this means the same: the life of the Course on our platform, not access in perpetuity. If we retire a Course or change platforms, we will give reasonable notice and, where practical, continued access to comparable materials. Live or time-limited programs and their recordings may carry a stated access period, which then applies in place of continuing access.
5. Intellectual Property
All Course content, including videos, audio recordings, written materials, manuals, posters, teaching frameworks, practice sequences, course structures, and branded systems, is owned by Forest Rock Qigong and Peter Caughey, or used under licence, and is protected by intellectual property law.
Peter Caughey is the holder of a private monastery-school lineage. Course content is shared with you for your personal study and practice under the licence granted in Section 4. Your enrolment does not transfer any ownership rights in our content, lineage, trademarks, course materials, or intellectual property.
Unless expressly authorised in writing by Forest Rock Qigong, you may not reproduce, distribute, publish, licence, teach from, commercially use, or create derivative works based on our Course materials, recordings, manuals, teaching frameworks, or branded systems.
Only students who have successfully completed the relevant Forest Rock Qigong teacher training and hold a current certification may represent themselves as certified Forest Rock Qigong teachers or teach Forest Rock Qigong systems under the Forest Rock Qigong name.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property, trademarks, lineage, or teaching materials.
6. Prohibited Use of Course Content
To protect the teaching and the lineage, you must not:
record, screen-record, download (unless a download is provided), copy, or reproduce Course content;
share, distribute, publish, or make Course content available to anyone else, whether free or paid;
use Course content to create, teach, or sell a competing or derivative course; or
circumvent any access or security limit on the platform.
Breach may lead to immediate suspension or termination of access without refund, and to legal action.
7. Live Sessions
Some Courses include live online sessions. Times are scheduled in advance and may occasionally change for reasons beyond our control; if a session cannot go ahead, we will reschedule it or provide a recording or equivalent. Live sessions may be recorded for enrolled participants; by attending you consent to this. You may keep your camera off.
8. Pricing and Payment
Prices appear on each Course page, in US dollars unless stated, and are processed by Stripe. By buying, you authorise us and our payment provider to charge your chosen payment method for the amount shown plus any applicable tax. We may change prices, but not for a Course you have already bought.
Payment plans. Where a Course offers a payment plan:
you authorise automatic charges on the scheduled dates for the full series of instalments;
if a payment fails, we will retry it and notify you, with a grace period to update your payment method;
access may be suspended if a missed payment is not resolved within the grace period;
the full Course fee remains payable regardless of how much of the Course you complete; and
for Courses with certification, the certificate is issued only once the fee is paid in full.
9. Refunds
Self-Paced and Recorded Courses
For self-paced and recorded courses (excluding the Self-Paced Qigong Teacher Training), you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have accessed no more than 10% of the Course content.
Once 14 days have passed, or once you have accessed more than 10% of the Course content, the Course is non-refundable.
To request a refund, please email us within the 14-day refund period.
Self-Paced Qigong Teacher Training
Due to the nature of the Self-Paced Qigong Teacher Training, including immediate access to extensive training materials, recordings, manuals, assessments, and certification resources, all purchases of the Self-Paced Qigong Teacher Training are final.
No refunds will be provided once access to the training has been granted, except where required by applicable law.
Live Online and Cohort Programs
For live online trainings, cohort-based programs, and other scheduled online courses that include live teaching, group sessions, or teacher support:
• If you withdraw 14 or more days before the program start date, you will receive a full refund.
• If you withdraw fewer than 14 days before the program start date, fees are non-refundable. At our discretion, we may offer a credit toward a future program.
• Once the program has begun, fees are non-refundable and any remaining payment-plan balance remains payable.
This policy reflects the scheduling of live teaching, teacher support, administration, and program resources committed in advance of the program commencement.
Courses Sold as Final Sale
Some Courses are sold as final sale and are not refundable. Where this is the case, it will be clearly stated on the Course page before purchase. That statement will apply instead of any refund period described above.
Statutory Rights
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence. Where applicable law provides rights that cannot be excluded, those rights will prevail to the extent of any inconsistency with these Terms.
10. Certification (Teacher Training)
Where a Course offers certification (such as QTT), it is awarded once you meet the stated requirements and have paid in full, at Forest Rock Qigong's reasonable discretion. Certification recognises that you have completed the Forest Rock Qigong training requirements for that Course. It confirms completion of the training; it is not a measure or guarantee of competence, readiness, or professional ability. It transfers no rights in our lineage, trademarks, or content, and makes you no agent or representative of Forest Rock Qigong; any authority to teach is limited to what the certificate states. We may withhold or revoke certification where requirements are not met, fees are unpaid, or a person misrepresents their certification, the lineage, or Forest Rock Qigong, or brings the teaching into disrepute.
11. Health, Safety, and Assumption of Risk
Please read this before you begin. Qigong involves physical movement, posture, and breathing, and — like any physical activity — carries a risk of injury or aggravation of an existing condition. You are responsible for practising safely and within your own limits. By enrolling, you confirm that:
you are in good general health and able to take part — or, if you have a health condition, you have taken appropriate professional advice about participating;
you take part voluntarily and accept responsibility for your own physical condition and safety;
you will consult a qualified health professional before starting, particularly if you are pregnant, recovering from injury or surgery, or have any heart, respiratory, neurological, musculoskeletal, psychiatric, or other relevant condition;
you will stop and seek advice if you experience pain, dizziness, breathlessness, or distress; and
to the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume the risks of participation and release Forest Rock Qigong, Peter Caughey, and our teachers and staff from liability for resulting injury, except for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or where liability cannot be excluded by law.
If you have a condition you would like to practise around, you are welcome to contact us, and where we can we will suggest modifications.
12. No Medical Advice and No Guaranteed Outcomes
Our Courses are educational. Although Peter Caughey is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and some content covers TCM theory and applications, the Courses are not medical advice or a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment, and create no practitioner–patient relationship. Always consult a qualified health professional about any medical condition. Individual experience varies, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome.
13. Third-party Platforms and Tools
We deliver the Services using third parties, including our learning platform, our payment provider (Stripe), and video tools (such as Zoom). Their own terms and privacy policies also apply. We are not responsible for their acts, omissions, or availability, but will act reasonably to maintain your access.
14. Conduct in Community Spaces
In any group session, forum, or community space, treat other participants and our teachers with respect. We may remove content or participants that are abusive, unlawful, or disruptive. These spaces are for the enrolled group and must not be recorded or shared outside it.
15. Privacy
We handle your personal information under our Privacy Policy at forestrockqigong.com/privacy. By using the Services you agree to that handling.
16. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available," and we disclaim all implied warranties; we do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Forest Rock Qigong and its founders, officers, teachers, employees, contractors, and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Course concerned. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Forest Rock Qigong and its founders, officers, teachers, employees, and contractors against any claim, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services or content, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
18. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, in particular Sections 3, 5, and 6. Where termination follows your serious breach, no refund is due. Clauses that should survive termination — intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity — do so.
19. Changes to Courses, Prices, and These Terms
We may update, improve, or discontinue Courses and may change prices, without affecting a Course you have already bought. We may update these Terms by posting a new version with a new effective date; material changes apply to purchases made after posting, and continued use means acceptance.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply. We will both attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute informally before commencing formal proceedings.
21. General
If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stand. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor or affiliate. These Terms, together with any Course-specific terms and our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding the Services.
