This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through our website and online learning platform, and should be read with our Terms of Service.
Who We Are
Forest Rock LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, USA, trading as Forest Rock Qigong ("we," "us," "our"), is responsible for the personal information described here. We provide online Qigong courses internationally. Our affiliated company, PT Forest Rock Worldwide in Indonesia, helps us operate them — providing administration, student support, and course production — under our direction. This policy covers information collected through forestrockqigong.com, our learning platform, our live sessions, and our emails. It does not cover third-party sites we link to.
1. Information We Collect
You give us: your name and email; account details and course activity; billing information (card details go directly to Stripe and are not stored by us); anything you provide in applications, enrolment questions, coaching, or community spaces; and your messages to us.
Collected automatically: technical data such as your IP address, device, and browser; how you use our site and platform; and information from cookies and similar technologies (Section 5).
From others: payment confirmation from Stripe, and limited information from advertising platforms (such as Meta) if you reach us through an advertisement.
Health information: Our Courses involve physical practice. We do not ask for health information when you enrol. You may choose to share health details with us — for example by email, in a support request, during coaching, or in community discussion — and where you do, we keep it confidential and use it only to support your participation, including suggesting modifications where we can.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: deliver Courses, live sessions, support, and certification; process payments and payment plans; manage your account and reply to you; send service emails (access, schedule, and payment notices); send marketing emails where you have agreed (you can unsubscribe at any time); understand and improve our site and Courses; show and measure our advertising; and meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations and prevent fraud.
3. Our Legal Grounds (where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies)
We rely on performance of our contract with you (to deliver Courses); your consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time); our legitimate interests (to run, secure, and improve our business); and compliance with legal obligations (such as keeping records).
4. Email Communications
Service emails relate to your account, purchases, and courses, and are necessary to provide what you bought. Marketing emails are sent only where permitted and carry an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing does not affect service emails. We use Mailchimp to manage email.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions (which make the site and checkout work), for analytics, and for advertising, including the Meta advertising pixel. You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
6. Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with providers who help us operate, and only as needed: Stripe (payments); our learning platform (course delivery); Zoom (live sessions); Mailchimp (email); our website and hosting providers; and advertising and analytics platforms such as Meta. Our affiliated company PT Forest Rock Worldwide, which provides administration, student support, and course production under our direction, accesses personal information as needed for those purposes. We may also disclose information where the law requires, to protect our rights, or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of our business.
7. International Transfers
We operate from the United States (Forest Rock LLC) and Indonesia (PT Forest Rock Worldwide), and our providers operate in other countries. Your information may therefore be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, whose data-protection laws may differ. Where we transfer information from the UK or European Economic Area, we use recognised safeguards to protect it.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, and financial records for at least seven years to meet legal obligations. We keep marketing details until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. We then delete or anonymise the information.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your information, and to withdraw consent (which does not affect anything done beforehand). To exercise them, email [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Your exact rights depend on your country's law — for example the GDPR (EU), UK GDPR, the Privacy Act (Australia), the PDPA (Singapore), or the CCPA (California).
10. Children
Our Services are for adults aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect children's information. A minor may use a Course only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures and rely on reputable providers (such as Stripe). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your password confidential.
12. Third-party Links
Our site and Courses may link to third-party services. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please read their policies before sharing information with them.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy and will post the revised version with a new effective date. Significant changes take effect for information collected after they are posted.
